Funnel Cloud Forms on Northeast Colorado Horizon

Officials issued severe weather warnings for northeast Colorado as storms threatened parts of the state on Thursday, April 25.

Footage taken by Elliot Baugh from the intersection of County Road 20 and Highway 63 in Washington County on Thursday shows a funnel cloud forming on the horizon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said the severe thunderstorm southwest of Akron was carrying quarter-sized hail and cloud-to-ground lightning.

Looks like we have either a, a land spout or a tornado.This is south of Akron, um County road.This is the intersection of County road 20 highway 63 here.Washington County, um, appears we have a, uh, land spout on the ground, uh, or something of that nature.Uh There might be a funnel up there somewhere but right over there we got, it looks like we got a land spout.Uh So, yeah, beautiful tornado, beautiful land spout, tornado, beautiful tornado.Lance spout on the ground.You see the funnel aloft.We're south of Akron, Colorado right now.This is just you right here.You're looking at the area where last year there was a tornado insanity, uh with uh Simon Brewer and Justin Drake.I think he, I think uh Matt is coming behind me, I think.Yeah, it's a blue pickup truck.
