Yahoo News Gary Barlow warns Robbie Williams about X Factor
Robbie Williams is all-but-confirmed to be joining the new X Factor panel alongside wife Ayda Field – and he's been given a warning by his former Take That bandmate.
Gary Barlow is more than a little familiar with the ITV talent show, having sat on the judging panel for three series, and admitted that it is exhausting work.
"It's going to be great, but I know what's to come with that show," he told The Sun. "I know what it does to you. He's got some hard work ahead, that's for sure. I've told him it's a lot of hours – more than people realise. It's tiring."
Gary also admitted the editing on the show made him out to be the "bad guy", adding: "They film you for eight hours until you've had enough and then you say something bad – and that's what they use when it goes out."
As for what Robbie would be like on the show, the singer predicted: "You're definitely going to see him turning the air blue, so tune in. He'll be disappointed if they don't let him."
Fellow Take That star Howard Donald added of Robbie and Ayda: "I think they'll be at each other's throats. That's why they've asked them to do it as a pair."
Simon Cowell seemingly confirmed Robbie and Ayda's involvement with the new series recently, saying: "It all kind of worked out without me even asking him. He came down to Britain's Got Talent, had such a good time that night and goes, 'You know what, this is fun.'
"He comes back to my house... 'Can we do a deal?' We do a deal. I think it's the best thing. And you know, because [Ayda] is a member of the public, that makes it better."
The X Factor is due to return to ITV later this year.
