General Election 2024 candidates for Frome and East Somerset - full list
Seven individuals have thrown their hats into the ring to become the new MP for Frome. The current Somerton and Frome constituency is one of the largest in Somerset, spanning approximately 900 square miles.
The newly proposed seat - Frome and East Somerset - will encompass the eastern parts of the former Mendip district, retaining Frome and the villages to the east of Shepton Mallet.
It will also incorporate Midsomer Norton and Radstock, which are currently part of the North East Somerset constituency represented by Jacob Rees-Mogg since 2010.
Following the Somerset Council elections in May 2022 and Sarah Dyke's triumph in the by-election held in July 2023, the Lib Dems are optimistic about their chances in this area.
Candidates confirmed to stand for the seat are:
Green Party: Martin Dimery
Independent: Gavin Heathcote
Independent: Shaun Hughes
Labour: Robin Moss
Liberal Democrat: Anna Sabine
Reform UK: David Swain
