George Shelley's younger sister is fighting for her life following car accident

It has been reported that George Shelley’s younger sister is fighting for her life in intensive care after being hit by a car last Friday.

Harriet Shelley, 21, is said to have suffered serious head injuries and is in the ICU at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

The pair’s mum, Toni, has been by her hospital bedside since the accident happened and says that she is overwhelmed by the love and support that her family have received, telling The Sun: “She was hit by a car. She’s very poorly but she’s stable.

“Everybody at Southmead Hospital has been amazing, they have been working 24/7 to make sure she is alright.

“I would like to thank everyone in Clevedon for praying for our daughter. They have been holding church services, Bristol’s Buddha centre has also been helping – everybody across different religions have been so amazing.”

Harriet is a midwifery student and her big brother, George, 23, first shot to fame after appearing on The X Factor as part of the band Union J.

He went on to have huge success with Union J before quitting the group a few months after appearing on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!.

George has not yet commented on his sister’s accident.

George has been inactive on social media since the accident occurred and is yet to comment on his sister’s condition.
