Donald Trump has insisted that he achieves regular exercise by playing golf, after his personal physician suggested that he needed to break a sweat more often.
Earlier this week, White House physician Dr Ronny Jackson confirmed that Trump is in excellent health but needed to lose weight, eat a better diet, and partake in more regular exercise.
‘I get exercise. I mean I walk, I this, I that’, the 71-year-old told Reuters at the Oval Office.
‘I run over to a building next door. I get more exercise than people think.’
His exercise instead comes from regular golf trips, although he claimed that he typically rides in a golf cart as he doesn’t want to ‘spend the time’ walking.

‘A lot of people go to the gym and they’ll work out for two hours and all. I’ve seen people … then they get their new knees when they’re 55 years old and they get their new hips and they do all those things. I don’t have those problems,’ Trump added.
He also claimed that he had recently undertaken a test on a treadmill which had been positioned at a ‘very steep angle.’
‘I was there for a very long time,’ he said.
‘They were surprised. And they said, “Well you can stop now, that’s amazing.” And I said, “I can go much longer than this if you want me to.’
