Girl, 9, remains in 'serious' condition after being hit by bike as police launch appeal

A girl left seriously injured after being hit by a motorbike remains in a 'serious' condition in hospital. Warwickshire Police has this afternoon given the update and confirmed she is nine-years-old.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said she had suffered 'potentially life threatening injuries' following the collision with a bike on Coleshill Road, near the junction with Ambien Road in Atherstone, late Tuesday afternoon (June 25).

Medics took her to Birmingham Children's Hospital where she currently remains receiving treatment. Now detectives have launched a witness appeal and urged anyone with any information to come forward.

Detective Constable Sam Bates, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said “We are urging any witnesses who saw what happened and have yet to speak to the police to get in touch.

"A child pedestrian has sustained serious injuries and we want to establish exactly what has happened. If you can help, have dash cam footage or doorbell footage, please contact us."
