A Glasgow officer was rushed to hospital after a collision involving a police van and a car last night (May 18).

Emergency services raced to the incident on Dobbie’s Loan after they received reports of the crash. The officer sat in the passenger seat of the van was taken to hospital whilst the driver was uninjured.

The driver of the car received medical advice at the scene.

The road was closed by Police Scotland until 10.30pm as they carried out their enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20pm on Saturday, 18 May, 2024, we were called to a report of a crash involving a marked police van and a car on Dobbie’s Loan, Glasgow.

“The officer travelling in the passenger seat of the police van was treated at hospital.

“The driver of the car received medical advice.

“The officer driving the van wasn’t injured.

“The road was closed while enquiries were carried out and re-opened around 10.30pm.”
