The 2015 Glastonbury Festival app has been updated to include the ability to drop vitual 'pins' on a map of the site to help people to locate each other at the festival, which is attended by around 175,000 people.

Users will be able to notify frends and family of their location as well as marking important spots such as their tent or where the car is parked, to make it easier to meet up.

The new app for the festival, which opens on 24 June, will also include access to live-streamed performances from the BBC.

An interactive scheduling tool enables users to make a timetable of the acts they want to see, which can be viewed via Facebook making it easier to find out which friends will be going to each performance.

Keeping festivalgoers up to date, the News section of the app will include real-time updates throughout the weekend of the festival.

The app has been created by EE - the official communications and technology partner of the famous music festival. The mobile phone company provides a bespoke 4G network for the festival, as well as a massive phone charging operation.
