Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has missed another week on the show as her boyfriend recovers from being hit by a car which reportedly left him fighting for his life.

Nat Eddlestone was hit by a car as he walked home from a night out in Leeds in the early hours of 19 March and was said to initially be on life support because his injuries were so severe.

Warner, who usually sits alongside sister Izzi on the Channel 4 TV commentary show, has not appeared for the last two Fridays while she supports Eddlestone.

The sisters have been popular stars of Gogglebox since 2015 and Eddlestone has also made appearances, both in person and through phone calls to Warner.

According to The Sun, show producers are giving hairdresser Warner as much time off as she needs during the coming weeks and she is not expected to be back on screen any time soon.

When the crash happened last month, West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: "The pedestrian remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

Earlier this week, former Celebrity Goggleboxer Maureen Lipman explained why she had chosen not to appear as Gyles Brandreth's sofa mate any more after they were shown an episode of Naked Attraction.

She told the Radio Times: "It is [over] from my point of view. I’m sure they’ll put someone else with Gyles.

"I went in imagining that they wanted me for my wit and my brain. Of course, they just want to show you willies and for you to be shocked."

She continued: "Honestly, we were really funny together, but none of that was used. And if they don't want to use what we gave them, f*** them."
