Good Morning Britain has revealed who will be replacing Piers Morgan during his summer break.

ITV seemingly confirmed that Sean Fletcher will be taking over from the controversial host for a few weeks starting next month, when he appeared on the show on Thursday, July 23.

"Aren't you coming back here for a stint in August?" fellow presenter Adil Ray quizzed the former sports journalist, who has stood in for Morgan's co-panellist Charlotte Hawkins when she's been off before.

"I think so with Ranvir [Singh], I'll have to check my rota," Fletcher replied. To which Singh jokingly quipped, "I am going to try to avoid that, I've asked the people that organise the rotas. I mean I like you, but not that much."

Ray clarified: "It wasn't clear there, but I believe Sean is going to be main hosting as well. That's brilliant."

For the last couple of weeks, Ray and Tipping Point presenter Ben Shephard have been filling in for Morgan, while Susanna Reid has been swapped for Hawkins and Kate Garraway.

Earlier this week, Morgan revealed that he'd suffered an injury while vacationing in Saint-Tropez, France. Sharing a picture of himself with sons Stanley, Spencer and Bertie, he wrote on Twitter: "Peg-leg (nothing like tearing a tendon on Day 2 of a 6-week holiday)."

Later, he returned to social media to update his followers, writing: "I'm deeply touched by the avalanche of 'goodwill' messages pouring in. I know my fans will be thrilled to learn that torn tendons are really [f**king] painful. But nothing a good French claret can't cure."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV.
