Goodwood crash sees Rover and Ford forced into tyre wall

Goodwood Motor Circuit threw open its doors for its 76th annual Members Meeting (76MM) at the weekend – but the snow was an unexpected guest.

Snow and expensive racing cars isn't normally the best mix, so it comes as little surprise that there were a number of incidents over the weekend-long racing event.

This incident occurred in the Gerry Marshall Sprint class, which saw a 1978 Ford Capri and 1981 Rover SD1 forced off the track.

The racing is always competitive at Goodwood, and even in freezing temperatures, the competitive spirit was as fierce as ever.

At the start of the video you can see the Rover getting sandwiched between two Ford Capris, before it is forced off the track.

Due to the ice on the grass, the driver helplessly slides across the grass, and is unable to turn or stop, ploughing into the tyre wall, along with another Ford Capri.

None of the drivers were injured in the incident.
