GP practices across Oxfordshire have been affected by a "serious" IT outage causing some to close.

The Newbury Street Practice in Wantage has told patients that it has been unable to open this morning (Monday, July 1) due to the outage.

A statement from the GP practice said: “Unfortunately, all GP Practices in Oxfordshire have been affected by a serious IT computer outage today.

“Therefore the practice is unable to open as usual this morning.

“We are waiting for confirmation from the ICS (NHS England) as to when this problem will be resolved.

“If you are in need of urgent medical care, please call 111.

“Please do not submit forms via our new appointment booking system as they will not be reviewed until we are back open.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
