A 63 year old woman who's expecting a baby with her 26 year old partner has hit back at those who doubt she'll live to see her child grow up.

Cheryl McCain, already a mother of seven and grandmother of 17, is eager to give her young husband Quran, who is 37 years her junior, his own child.

Their romance began when Quran visited the petrol station where Cheryl worked as a cashier. Recalling their early days, Cheryl shared with Closer magazine, "It took a while for things to progress," and revealed, "Then after we first made love, Quran admitted he'd been a virgin."

"I was amazed, but he said he'd been waiting for the right person, which made me feel so special."

She added that without his confession, she wouldn't have guessed it was his first time, reports the Daily Star.

The couple tied the knot in September 2021 and not long after, they started planning for a baby. To realise their dream, Cheryl and Quran are working with a surrogate.

But despite the joyous occasion, they've encountered harsh trolling on social media. Cheryl, whose mother lived past 100, shared: "People say I might not live to see our child turn 18, but no one is promised seeing a child to 18 when they become a parent. Nobody knows what is going stop happen in the future whatever age they are!"

Other critics have gone further, with one commenting: "Thats sad, that poor baby won't have a mum a few years after being born." Another wrote: "So you’re going to leave this man with this baby because clearly you’re 1 foot in the casket." While another said: "Does he know he’s going to be a single father?"

Despite facing criticism, Cheryl is confident in her parenting skills, having raised seven children already.

The surrogacy journey has its challenges, including changes in their intimate life. Cheryl disclosed that they "normally made love every night, sometimes twice" but had to reduce their frequency because Quran needed to conserve his sperm.

"The stress and lack of intimacy did start to affect our marriage," she admitted.

Finding a suitable surrogate proved difficult as well, with some candidates appearing to be more interested in the financial aspect.

Cheryl and her partner Quran are over the moon about expecting a baby just after Christmas, but not everyone is on board. Six out of Cheryl's seven children have cut off communication with her due to the pregnancy.
