Yahoo News Grey's Anatomy boss says next episode is the show's "most powerful" ever
Grey's Anatomy has had many, many powerful moments over the years, but the show's boss reckons the next episode will top the lot.
In this week's instalment of the medical drama, 'Silent All These Years', the show will tackle the topic of consent, with showrunner Krista Vernoff calling it "the most powerful hour of TV I've ever been a part of".
The story is due to air later this week, and was written in the wake of Christine Blasey Ford's testimony against US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh last year.
"When the Supreme Court situation happened this year, I wrote the writers and I said, 'We have to do something about consent. It hurts me too much. We have to do something,'" Vernoff recalled during a panel alongside Scandal's Kerry Washington (via The Hollywood Reporter).
"It was the only time I can point to where I came at them with an issue and the story evolved. What these great writers brought to it is so much character and so much humanity and so much heart."
In other Grey's Anatomy news, one super-fan of the show was lucky enough to visit the set recently, and even tried her hand at directing a scene.
The fan, Izzy, was granted the visit through the Make a Wish foundation, and got the meet the show's stars and even try on costumes too.
Star Ellen Pompeo later shared the moment on Twitter, calling it "such a great day".
Grey's Anatomy continues Thursdays on ABC in the US. It airs on Sky Witness and NOW TV in the UK.
