One of the biggest games of Manchester City's season takes place tonight, with Pep Guardiola's side taking on Tottenham in the Premier League.

Josko Gvardiol continued his impressive goalscoring form with two goals in the 4-0 win over Fulham on the weekend, with the victory keeping the Premier League title in City's hands. Arsenal's 1-0 win over Manchester United ensured the Gunners would take the title battle to the final day of the season, with three points vital for City tonight.

Victory for Guardiola's side will move City two points clear of Arsenal going into the final game, while a draw would see them stay in second, only behind Arsenal on goal difference. City ended their dreadful record at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier in the season as they scored their first goal there in a 1-0 FA Cup win, but Guardiola's side remain winless and goalless at the ground in the Premier League.

So, can City return to the top of the Premier League going into the final day of the season? Let's take a look.

We simulated Tottenham vs Manchester City to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Spurs could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Emerson; Bentancur, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Son, Kulusevski.

We predict that City could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Rodri, Kovacic; Silva, De Bruyne, Foden; Haaland.

Spurs thought they had taken the lead just two minutes in when Heung-Min Son drifted away from Ruben Dias at the far post to head a cross into the net, but the striker was judged to have been offside, and the goal was ruled out. After the early scare, City dominated the game, and just before the break, they managed to go a goal ahead.

A slick passing move was finished off when Kevin De Bruyne found Gvardiol on the left, but his shot from a tight angle was well saved by Guglielmo Vicario and pushed over the bar for a corner. De Bruyne took the resulting set piece, and his cross was met by Erling Haaland - who else? - who headed home at the near post, despite Pedro Porro's best efforts to block the ball on the line.

Just seven minutes after the restart, City doubled their lead as that man Haaland grabbed a second. Phil Foden played a one-two with the Norwegian to surge into the box and shoot, but his effort was parried to Haaland who tapped into an empty net. Spurs couldn't cope with the striker, and in the 88th minute, he bagged his hat-trick to top off a fantastic evening for City in the capital.

Substitutes Jeremy Doku and Rico Lewis linked up well down the right to break through the Spurs midfield, and Lewis' driven pass to De Bruyne was deftly flicked through the legs of Cristian Romero into the path of Haaland. Inside the box, the 23-year-old curled the ball around the 'keeper to make it 3-0 and send City back to the top of the Premier League.

City will be hoping Haaland is on top form again this evening when the proper action gets under way.
