Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has said “life never will be the same again” after he gets the all clear from cancer.

The chef and TV star announced in May that he had been diagnosed with the illness and that he would be undergoing chemotherapy, saying that he may be the “baldy biker” for a while.

His treatment is now under way and Myers told The Guardian that things will never be the same once he has come out the other side.

He opened up during a discussion about what it means to “make it” in life: saying: “I tell you. I’ll feel I’ve made it when I get the all-clear from this bloody cancer. That’s going to be completely life-changing, life-affirming.”

“And life never will be the same again,” he added.

The 65-year-old – who is famous for his TV shows and cookery books with his close friend and fellow Hairy Biker Si King – has had 14 sessions of chemo and has six more to go.

He has previously said that he wouldn't wish the treatment on his worst enemy.

The star, who has not shared which type of cancer he has, spoke to Kate Thornton on White Wine Question Time, about his diagnosis and his treatment.

"Fortunately I think the chemo's working,” he said.

“But the effect that chemotherapy has on you... every day is a school day.

"My eyes are sore because my eyelashes have fallen out. It's crap like that, that's really irritating.”

However, the TV star added that he was “getting there”.
