Hairy Bikers' Si King supported as he issues 'sore' update over late Dave Myers

Si King has been flooded with support after he shared a touching update over "remembering" Dave Myers following the BBC and ITV Hairy Bikers star's death. The chef spoke out on Instagram on Tuesday night (April 23) with an update for fans and followers.

Si said: "Last night friends, family and industry celebrated Dave’s life on the stunning 3rd floor at @fortnums thanks to CEO Tom Athron and his brilliant team. We had a wonderful evening reminiscing about our dear friend and the room was filled with love as you’d expect.

"Dave would have loved it. Thank you to all that could make it – you made it very special. We will post some more fabulous photos tomorrow. Si x." In reply, a fan said: "Such a sore one for you all…glad that you were able to celebrate his life. Thinking of you all."

"You gave us all the perfect chance to Celebrate a very lovely man. You couldn’t have done better for Dave… he would have loved it. Sending love," another typed. " @hairybikers Simon my brother Robbie Johnson sends his love to you and the memories," wrote a third.

Another said: "Si...I think a book maybe in order to document and celebrate your journeys together." Another said: "Richly deserved tribute. Dave is hugely missed and i hope Si is keeping his chin up and plodding on. I hope we do get to see Si carry on the tv presenting.

"Much loved and respected presenters are thin on the ground." Deborah Meaden said: "Tonight we came together to celebrate the life of a good man who left this world too soon. I can’t claim to have known him as deeply as many of the hundreds of people in the room, but I didn’t have to to know his warmth, fun, energy , generosity and sheer zest for life.

"He was in my Strictly year and we all fell in love with him. Tonight was full of joyful memories which kept the sadness at bay for a while but I know there will be a huge void for his family and friends for a very long time. Mr Dave Myers a truly good man and one of a kind. It was an honour."
