Harry Redknapp’s wife Sandra has said she’s been finding some of her husband’s antics on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ a little ’embarrassing’.

The football manager has been effusing about his ‘peng ting‘ of more than 50 years regularly on the show, and though she says she ‘misses him terribly’, there have been some… moments.

“It has been quite hard to watch him,” she told the Daily Mirror.

“He doesn’t realise everybody is hearing him say things and talking about me, it’s quite embarrassing really.

“He doesn’t realise that all the public are seeing him say things, which is very nice. It’s very flattering.”

“Will he be a new man? I doubt he will change, after 54 years I can’t see him changing much now. We’ll soon find out when he comes home,” she added.

“He’s never cleaned the toilet at home or even the sink, so I’m surprised to see him clean the dunny.

“And when he did the floss I really couldn’t believe it, the only other time I saw him dance was when we got married.”

Sandra has arrived in Australia ahead of the TV show’s first eviction, set to take place tonight on the show.

The pair met when they were teenagers in a London pub, and were married four years later. Harry has said on the show that finding Sandra was like ‘winning the lottery’.

“I miss him terribly. I didn’t realise they take your phone off you in the first week before the show starts, so he rang me to say, ‘I can’t speak to you any more’. That was hard,” she went on.

“I think he has what it takes to be king of the jungle, hopefully. He won’t realise the impact he’s had.”

Bookies currently have the former Spurs manager at 13/8 favourite to win the show, shooting ahead of initial favourites Anne Hegerty from The Chase and Inbetweeners star Emily Atack.

“Harry is proving to be both the father figure and your best mate from the pub,” said a spokesman for William Hill. “Right now he looks unbeatable.”
