Heartwarming reason mum 'doesn't want to get emotional' at P!nk's Summer Carnival tour

P!nk fans have arrived at Anfield Stadium for the second show of the Summer Carnival tour.

Anfield Stadium was a sea of literal pink yesterday as thousands descended on L4 in their best outfits ready to enjoy the evening. For some fans, the show holds special meaning.

Mum and daughter Nicola Higham, 43, and Laney Johnson, 20, have been waiting for his moment for years. Laney surprised her mum with the tickets a few weeks ago as she's wanted to go for years.

The pair hoped to see P!nk's previous tour but couldn't make it because of costs. Laney, who works long shifts caring for people with brain injuries and epilepsy, decided to save up and surprise her mum with tickets, so they are finally seeing P!nk live tonight.

Nicola told the ECHO: “I came home from a late shift to a bottle of wine and a card and then Laney surprised me with the tickets.

“I am excited for all the songs because I’ve been a fan forever. I don’t want to get emotional but I used to dance around the kitchen to P!nk with Laney when she was small and tonight we can dance together again."

Nicola and Laney travelled from North Wales for the show and expect it to be every bit as magical as they hoped.
