The series follows the elite courtesans of Lahore, modern-day Pakistan as they lived and worked during the fight for independence from British rule in the 1940s. Think incredible clothing, intricate set designs and heart-wrenching love stories!

Will there be a season 2 of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar?
So, we have good news and bad news. Netflix is yet to confirm the future of the series and season one ended with the younger generation poised to take over. Yay!
But, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has pretty much said that he isn’t interested in directing another season. Speaking to iMDB, he said, "We’ve made it, I’ve enjoyed making it, and I’m thankful to God that we made it. It was a very difficult project.
"Nobody else will ever be able to make Heeramandi again, nor will I be able to make it again, because it happens once." But, considering the success of the series, we'll keep our fingers crossed!
Who could be in the cast of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar season 2?
If another instalment does go ahead, we would expect lots of the main cast to return to the Heeramandi palace. They could include:
Manisha Koirala as Mallikajaan
Aditi Rao Hydari as Bibbojaan
Sonakshi Sinha as Fareedan
Sharmin Segal as Alamzeb
Sanjeeda Sheikh as Waheeda, a courtesan and Mallika’s sister
Richa Chadha as Lajjo
Spoiler alert, but if you've watched the series finale, you will know that Taha Shah Badussha is unlikely to return as Tajdar after being killed before he and Alam could have their happy ending. We're still not over that one!
What could the plot of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar season 2 be?
With season one ending with the Bibbo being shot by the officers and the Indian Independence Act being passed, season two would see the courtesans face new challenges in a brand new country.
We could expect the younger generation take over Heermandi, but we'll have to wait and see for sure!
