Helen Skelton, the ex-Strictly Come Dancing contestant and host of Springtime on the Farm, has delighted her followers with a glimpse into her fresh start in a new abode.

The 40 year old broadcaster recently shared that she's moved from the home she shared with her former husband, England and Leeds Rhino rugby ace Richie Myler. The couple's previous £1.1M abode was nestled within a plush gated community.

Following their divorce, Helen returned to her roots in Cumbria, taking refuge at her parents' place while she regained her bearings.

Today, the mother of three posted about her father's invaluable assistance during her move to a new house. In a touching Instagram post, Helen praised her dad, saying: "The kind of granddad who spends days moving the entire contents of your life and still makes time for motorbikes and football," accompanied by a red heart emoji.

In a light-hearted update, she also depicted the challenges of relocating with children, recounting an amusing conversation with her son over his boxing gloves: "Tell me you're moving... without telling me you're moving.... 'Me: which pair are going to charity shop? Him: neither we NEED them both."

Having spent some time back in Cumbria with her family after parting ways with Richie, Helen is now embarking on a new journey of independence with her kids. She shares Ernie, eight, Louis, five, and Elsie, 16 months, with Myler, reports the Mirror.

Additionally, this week she announced an upcoming TV project alongside her good friend and fellow Strictly alum, Dan Walker.

The pair are set to delight fans once more with a brand new travel series for Channel 5, following their popular trek across Yorkshire and Cumbria last year.

The pair took to Instagram with great excitement to announce their latest venture: "Some lovely news... we are about to start filming a new travel series for @channel5_tv."

They continued: "Watch this space for more details. We'll let you know when you can watch us wandering around together as soon as we can (champagne optional)."

Fans have been quick off the mark to show their enthusiasm, with one fan commenting: "Oooh fab. Loved your last series together," and another adding: "Oh yes that's made mine and my husbands evening! Our fav people walking round our fav place, can't wait! " A third admirer shared their joy: "Yes yes Dan and Helen this is the best news ever I really really enjoyed the first series @mrdanwalker and @helenskelton. And I cannot wait to see what you both get up to. Sending lots of love to you both."

Dan and Helen's previous adventures saw them engaging in a host of exciting activities throughout the Pennines. Their escapades included cycling on Snake Pass, canoeing at Standedge, braving a tentless camp near Keighley, exploring Ilkley Moor, and even attempting hydrospeeding.
