A Herefordshire nursery school has been recognised with a major national nursery award.

Greenview Nursery in Credenhill has received the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) award of Nursery of the Year 2024 for the England Central region.

The 2024 NDNA Award winners were revealed during a glitzy ceremony at the Coventry Building Society Arena on June 7. The fantastic evening commenced with a drinks reception and a three-course dinner, followed by the awards ceremony and of course, the opportunity to party and celebrate, says the NDNA website.

Greenview earned the coveted award for its outstanding early years provision and, with a team of dedicated and experienced staff, the nursery prides itself on providing a nurturing and engaging environment for children.

"The Greenview Nursery approach to early years is child-centred. The staff know that a child's abilities are influenced by their experiences and the nursery is inclusive and compassionate to all," said the nursery school.

Originally known as Dolly Mixtures Preschool and Creche, the nursery has made some big changes over the last year and continues to go from strength to strength. The nursery has invested in new indoor and outdoor environments and has implemented a new curriculum to support each child's development. Children at Greenview enjoy a whole host of extra-curricular activities, as well as delicious home-cooked meals and snacks.

The nursery feels very lucky to be supported by the NHS health visiting team and facilitates a weekly clinic led by community nursery nurse Becca Preece. Greenview also feels grateful to have received such kind messages of congratulations from their families, community and other childcare providers and schools, from across the county.

Manager Zoe Skidmore said: "I am extremely proud of the nursery we have built together.  Without the support of highly caring and passionate educators, a very supportive leadership team, trustees, and community this would not have been achievable.

“In our nursery we prioritise belonging, we want everyone who walks through the door to feel like they belong in our nursery. We are excited for the future of Greenview Nursery and have some exciting expansion plans in the future,” Ms Skidmore said.
