Hidden Glastonbury Festival bars that you won't know exist - but will want to visit

Festival-goers have received an inside look into Glastonbury Festival's elusive bars to watch out for this year, as provided by DJ and radio presenter Shana Gujral. Beyond the music, the renowned Somerset festival is rich with discovery and nocturnal venues ready for when the main stages power down.

Gujral, hosting the breakfast show on Worthy FM - Glastonbury's own station - in addition to playing a DJ set at The Common's fresh Kinetic Bar, has revealed these secret watering holes that might typically fly under the radar. While many festival attendees are familiar with popular spots like The Bread and Roses, West Holts Bar and Avalon Inn, some are tucked away from inquisitive gazes.

She points towards Maceos first, situated within block9 in the South East Corner. Although identified as a Crew Bar, it is still accessible if you can procure a wristband from a staff member. Earlier this month, in a TikTok video, Gujral illuminated three hidden bars that are worth uncovering, forging her path to Maceos seems to be thoroughly recommended.

With the caption stating: "Disclosure played a secret set at Maceos last year, deffo worth a visit As a festival goer you can get into Maceos if you get someone to get a wristband!!"

Crew members can gain entry with their wristbands, but according to Shana, anyone can obtain a wristband from the bar once inside. So, keep your eyes open, reports Bristol Live.

Maceos has also been known to host secret sets from big names like Fatboy Slim and Disclosure, who performed there last year.

Next on the list is the Tow and Hitch, Arcadia's crew bar. Open throughout the day and night, Tow and Hitch features fire pits and serves cask ales, cocktails, and food from Hidden Pizza and Chip Shack.

The bar will also be hosting several acts this year, including Arcadia Sound System, Tow and Hitch DJs, and Rompa's Reggae Shack. There's also ample space to relax if you're seeking some downtime.

Finally, there's the Unfairground Bar, whose existence is somewhat of a rumour, as it's not easily found on Google. However, it certainly does exist.

Nestled in the South East Corner is the Unfairground, a field dedicated to subversive art, performance, and underground music. Much like the other bars, the Unfairground also hosts secret sets.

Shana's advice is to ask a crew worker for a wristband if you know one. Once you have a wristband, you'll be able to effortlessly access the behind-the-scenes action.
