Holly Hagan fitted with hearing aids after 'struggling' for seven years

Holly Hagan has been fitted with hearing aids after struggling to hear for more than seven years.

The former Geordie Shore star shared her battle with hearing loss on Instagram alongside a video showing her getting her hearing tested and her over-the-ear devices fitted.

"Finally getting my hearing sorted with Boots Hearingcare after struggling for over 7-8 years," Holly, 31, captioned the post. "I'm ranked severe for certain sounds which explains why turning up the TV never helped. I've worked so hard to decipher conversations and always felt embarrassed asking people to repeat themselves. I could tune into family but struggled with new voices in busy environments, often coming across as rude or uninterested."

In the video, the reality star admitted to her husband Jacob Blyth on the way to the appointment that she had forgotten what "normal hearing is supposed to be like".

After the test, Holly showed off her new hearing aids, which were set at 70% to let her brain adapt to the new sounds.

"When he turned it on, oh my God, I wish you guys could hear the difference," she told viewers. "I can actually hear the birds chirping for the first time in years. I've honestly been missing out on so much so I would honestly advise people to not put it off for as long as I did."

Holly encouraged anyone who is struggling with their hearing to see a medical professional, adding, "It's honestly so worth it, my only regret is not doing this sooner."
