Hollyoaks fans can breathe a sigh of relief over Tom Cunningham's inheritance money, as devious Darcy Wilde has been caught out yet again.

Poor Tom (Ellis Hollins) has become Darcy's latest target this year, as she's been busy dreaming up sneaky ways to swindle him out of his £1 million inheritance money.

Thursday's E4 first look episode (January 18) saw Darcy prepare to flee from the village with her young son Toby, promising him a dream holiday in the US.

Darcy (Aisling Jarrett-Gavin) saw her chance to steal a sizeable sum of Tom's money after he'd agreed to pay the deposit needed for the Osbornes to buy Nightingale's with Luke, Mandy, Tony and Diane. Feeding him a pack of lies, Darcy told Tom that Mandy had requested £20,000 in cash.

Stage one of Darcy's plan paid off when she managed to fool Adam Donovan into handing over Toby for the afternoon, but making her escape from the village with Tom's money wasn't quite so simple when Jack Osborne pulled up as her taxi driver.

Jack and Tom had both rumbled Darcy and she was horrified to discover that the bag of cash she'd stolen only contained Monopoly money. Busted!

Showing an unexpected talent for comedy, Jack quipped: "So what's it to be? A house on Trafalgar Square, or would you prefer to go straight to jail?"

While we hope Tom will be extra careful with his money from now on, it's not the end of Darcy's storyline with the Osbornes.

Next week's episodes see Darcy try to seduce Jack in another desperate plan, but will he reject her now he knows what she's capable of?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
