Hollyoaks' Martine misleads Felix over cancer scan

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Martine has misled love interest Felix over her cancer scan in Hollyoaks.

As part of an ongoing storyline about unconscious bias, Martine has found out that a lump on her breast may be cancerous. She'd previously had a clinic appointment cancelled in favour of Grace seeing the doctor.

Friday's (April 16) E4 episode picked up days later as Martine waited for her biopsy results. When Celeste reacted angrily to her mum telling her the truth about the appointment, Martine admitted: "I wasn't ready. I'm still not ready."

"Whatever the results are, we are going to get you through this," Celeste promised. "All of us. Felix included."

Martine wasn't convinced Felix would be there to comfort her, seeing as he'd gone back on his word to split up with Grace once she'd got an all-clear on her cancer scan.

Warren was encouraging Felix to prove he wasn't a "coward" by coming clean with Martine about his feelings when a text came through from her asking to meet at The Dog.

Grace interrupted their discussion before they could really get going by telling Felix she was ready to get serious, so he needed to move in with her or "it's over".

"Interesting to watch," Martine quipped. "You're doing to her what you've always done to me."

Martine lied that she "definitely doesn't have cancer" and she definitely didn't want him! Later, Grace got her own reality check at the Salon de The de Marnie when she gloated over her offer to Felix.

Celeste reminded her of Martine's own cancer scan, but when Grace offered her sympathies, she was told the results were inconclusive so far.

"You need to forget about this conversation," Martine insisted. "If you breathe a word of this conversation to Felix, then you'll be wearing that bubbly."

Will Martine come clean with Felix about what's really happening with her cancer scan?

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
