Hollywood A-lister spotted during Leeds United's play-off final against Southampton

Hollywood actor Dustin Hoffman has been spotted in attendance at Wembley for Leeds United's play-off final clash with Southampton.

Around 36,000 fans have made the trip from West Yorkshire to the capital, hopeful of seeing Daniel Farke's side secure a return to the Premier League. The Whites' last visit to the national stadium came 16 years ago when they lost to Doncaster Rovers in the League One play-off final.

But with the eyes of the world firmly fixed on football's most lucrative encounter, the two-time Oscar winning actor has made the trip to London to be in attendance. Leeds have a number of famous supporters across the globe, but it is not believed that the 86-year-old has an allegiance to either of the featured sides.

In the build-up to the encounter, the players were sent messages of support from former players to global superstars, with the likes of Mark Viduka, Raphinha and Paris Hilton cheering on the Whites. Will Ferrell, who is one of several high-profile investors with 49ers Enterprises, has not made the trip to the capital.

PDC World Darts champion Luke Humphries was another famous face seen pitchside before the kick-off, conducting an interview with Sky Sports. The 29-year-old's support of the Yorkshire club is well documented, having recently adopted Kaiser Chiefs hit, 'I Predict A Riot' as his new walkout song which was used following Leeds' triumph over Leicester City at Elland Road in February.

Farke's side currently trail the contest with just over half of the contest remaining. Adam Armstrong gave the Saints the lead in the 24th minute after being picked out by Will Smallbone, continuing his hot streak against the Whites having scored three times against them in the league this season.
