Hollywood star Jack Black jokingly asked a Wolverhampton dad for his 'housekeys, wallet and phone' outside Poundland in Birmingham this morning. The Tenacious D funnyman, who is performing alongside bandmate Kyle Gass at Resorts World Arena tonight (May 7), left 38-year-old Richard O'Connor starstruck outside the discount store in the city centre.

Richard was 'on a Greggs run' this morning when he noticed the 54-year-old actor, comedian and musician passing by in a tie dye shirt. He ran to catch up with the star who was exploring the city ahead of his concert.

He told BirminghamLive: "I was walking back from my daily Greggs run and I thought I saw him so I had a brisk walk/chase to ask if he'd oblige a selfie. I love his movies and music.

"His words were 'shush and give me your phone... and wallet and house keys too!'" as he encouraged Richard to smile for the snap. "I've literally been star struck for the last three hours," Richard added, "and I probably will be for the rest of the day."

Tenacious D's 'Spicy Meatball' tour arrives in Birmingham today and the show is sold out. The 'Pick of Destiny' pair will then continue on to shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Nottingham and Brighton, all of which have sold out too.

The tour then goes on to Paris, France before moving on to Australia and New Zealand. It comes back to the UK on June 16 for a show at London's O2. That date has also sold out.
