Claire Danes' CIA operative Carrie Mathison is back on the scene in the first trailer for Homeland's eighth and final season.
The wait for the new episodes has been longer than anticipated – Digital Spy took a deep-dive on the reasons why – but at last we've got a sniff of that explosive drama before the year draws to a frosty close.
Receiving an opportunity to go on yet another life-threatening mission, Carrie responds with an enthusiastic "Hell yes!" before the show's traditional cloak-and-dagger trappings take over the season 8 trailer.
As you'd expect, the rest is full of shadowy action, hushed conversations and guns raised at enemies.
Meanwhile, Danes previously hinted that Homeland's mortality might not be as black-and-white as we've been led to believe.
Discussing the 'final' season, the actress shared: "It's not unequivocally conclusive. We'll see. As I said, it's the kind of show that could continue going on indefinitely because it's a strange model.
"It's an unusual model. It can mutate in ways a lot of shows can't. It's totally uncertain."
Homeland will return to Showtime on February 9, 2020.
