Martin Roberts is tipped to join the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, it is rumoured. The 'Homes Under The Hammer' presenter, aged 60, is believed to be in discussions with the show's producers about strutting his stuff on the dance floor for the next series.

An insider revealed to The Daily Star: "Martin is just waiting to sign his contract. It'll be a dream come true for him - and a delight for viewers." Roberts himself dropped a hint while at the recent TRIC awards.

Chatting to the press, he quipped: "I'm like a Ninja Mutant Hero Turtle - I just eat pizzas. Domino's Mighty Meat. I'm the stomach of Domino's, not the face of it." He also reflected on his dietary habits: "I should worry about what I eat because I had a health scare. I need to look after myself better."

"And certainly if I get this TV show later in the year. I'll have to get super fit." In related news, two CBBC personalities are reportedly vying for a spot on Strictly Come Dancing.

Blue Peter's Shini Muthukrishnan, 22, is rumoured to be up against fellow CBBC host Evie Pickerill, 32, for a chance to dazzle on the BBC dance extravaganza, with Shini apparently leading the race.

A source confided to The Mail On Sunday: "There can really only be one from the world of CBBC so there is now a full-on battle, a war."

"Securing a place on 'Strictly' is seen as the golden goose for those in children's television. It's an opportunity to break out of that niche and become a national celebrity."

"It seems many agents have been pitching their clients to 'Strictly's casting director but Shini has managed to edge ahead."
