Man, 58, and 14-year-old girl die in house fire in Cumbrian village
A man and a teenage girl have died in a house fire in a Cumbrian village.
The 58-year-old man and 14-year-old girl both died in the blaze which happened at Toll Bar Houses in Distington, in the early hours of Sunday.
Cumbria Police said emergency services were called at 4.47am to reports of the fire, which saw neighbouring properties evacuated.
There have been no further reported injuries, police said.
The force has now launched a joint investigation with Cumbria Fire & Rescue service to find the cause of the fire.

Roads were closed after the incident, with police urging motorists to avoid the area.
A statement from Cumbria Police said: "Two people have died following a house fire in Distington.
"Police were called at 4:47am today (22 May) with a report of a house fire at Toll Bar Houses.

"A 58-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl, both from Distington, died at the scene of the fire.
"Police and Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service are working together to investigate the potential cause of the fire.
