It’s the new docuseries that everyone’s talking about and now you can watch it too, as Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV finally arrives on UK TV via Discovery+.

This four-part series chronicles a series of troubling issues that impacted the young child cast of some of Nickelodeon’s most beloved TV shows like All That and Drake & Josh throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.

At the centre of the show’s controversial testimonies is Dan Schneider, the showrunner who was often at the helm of the channel’s biggest shows.

Directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz, the series originally debuted on Investigation Discovery, Max and Discovery+ in the US, with a recently announced fifth bonus episode on the way.

Odds are, you’ve already seen this one make waves on social media, but below you’ll find all the information you need on how to watch it for yourself in the UK.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV looks at the alleged atmosphere of fear and exploitation that was allegedly cultivated by one of Nickelodeon’s most acclaimed and successful showrunners.

Starting his career on the 1990s Nickelodeon sketch show All That, Schneider was responsible for catalysing the careers of many of the channel’s most notable young talent like Kenan & Kel stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell and The Amanda Show’s Amanda Bynes.

However, through new interviews with the writers who worked under him and the former child stars who relied on him for their future successes, the series paints a picture of questionable on-set behaviour, frequent crude innuendo jokes written by Schneider for his young stars, and an overall toxic workplace environment.

In a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Schneider apologised to the subjects of the Quiet on Set documentary. He told the publication: “Watching over the past two nights was very difficult — me facing my past behaviours, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret. I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology."

He also spoke of the alleged abuse Drake & Josh star Drake Bell was subjected to, and said: “When Drake and I talked and he told me about what happened, I was more devastated by that than anything that ever happened to me in my career thus far. And I told him, ‘I’m here for you’.”
