Hugh Dennis 'looking forward' to filming long-awaited Outnumbered festive special

Hugh Dennis is "looking forward" to reuniting with his Outnumbered co-stars after eight years for the upcoming Christmas special.

The BBC announced last week that they would be revisiting the Brockman family - parents Pete and Sue and children Jake, Ben and Karen - for a special to air this Christmas.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Hugh said that he and his girlfriend Claire Skinner are looking forward to reuniting with their younger co-stars Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche, and Ramona Marquez.

However, he noted that the home set-up could look different now the children are all in their 20s.

"We're all looking forward to it," he shared. "It's going to be strange isn't it because I don't think we live together anymore as a family. There's lots of different stuff to reflect and one of the great things about the show was it actually did, it seemed to me, to reflect life as it actually was."

The 62-year-old added that he doesn't know the plot of the special yet.

"It's great that it's coming back. We are doing this 40-minute special but we don't really know anything about it," he continued. "We've read in the paper that we have a grandchild but we don't know whose kid it is."

Outnumbered ran from 2007 and 2014 and returned for a Christmas special in 2016. Hugh and Claire, who played husband and wife during the show, confirmed they were dating in real life in 2018.

When presenter Richard Madeley asked what it was like filming with his "missus", Hugh replied that he didn't know as filming doesn't get underway until November.
