Hull City star Ozan Tufan is the subject of strong interest from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor after the Super Lig club lodged a bid for the playmaker.

Tufan played 37 times in the Championship last season for City and notched a career-best 10 goals in the Black and Amber as the Tigers narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship's top six.

The 29-year-old joined City in the summer of 2022 from Fenerbahce for a fee in the region of £4m and has established himself as a firm favourite on the MKM Stadium terraces, but has been continually linked with a move away from the East Yorkshire club.

A return to Turkey had been talked about previously while Premier League side West Ham were linked with a move for the former Turkish international earlier this year, and now, reports of Tufan agreeing a three-year deal with the former Super Lig champions, who finished third behind winners Galatasaray and his old club Fenerbahce, have surfaced, though Hull Live understands no agreement has yet been struck between the two clubs with talks ongoing.

Should Tufan depart this summer, it would free up valuable finances to allow new Tigers boss Tim Walter to reinvest in his squad, with City needing a big summer of recruitment to get their squad ready for the start of the Championship season in just 50 days' time.
