Yahoo News Huw Edwards opens up about depression that left him 'bedridden' at times
Huw Edwards has told how he has suffered from bouts of depression that have left him “bedridden” at times.
The Welsh newsreader, 60, opened up in a documentary for S4C, saying that his difficulties started in 2002 and that on some occasions he didn’t want to go to work.
According to the Mirror, he says in the Welsh language documentary: “People tend to think that if you are confident, then you never doubt yourself. But that's not true. Like everyone that suffers with depression, you don't get one bout of it. It comes and goes.”

BBC veteran Edwards said that he went downhill “fairly quickly” and described it as being “overwhelming”.
He said: “Whenever I had to go live on air, I would literally have to tell myself, ‘Come on now, you’ll be OK now. You just have to do it,’ and I just had to push myself in a way."
Edwards first joined the BBC in 1984.
He began hosting BBC News At Ten in 2003, after four years as the host of the earlier six o'clock bulletin.

This summer, the star confessed that he was considering his future as anchor of the programme, saying "it's fair for the viewers to get a change".
The journalist told BBC Radio Cymru that the nightly role is "taxing".
He said that although he enjoys it, it might soon be time for something different.
