I’m A Celebrity 2016: Boxing star Tyson Fury to join jungle line-up?

Boxing star Tyson Fury could be heading into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here jungle next month, but ITV bosses might have a fight on their hands to encourage him to sign up.

Producers are reportedly pulling out all of the stops to secure him for the upcoming series after he recently pulled out of a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko amid claims that he had been suffering with depression.

The self-styled Gypsy King, who is at risk of losing his WBA and WBO titles after allegedly testing positive for cocaine, is reportedly being offered “big money” to appear on the show.

Following the recent scandal, a source told the Daily Star: “A good run on the show would improve his image.”

Earlier today, the controversial star retweeted an article about his prospective reality TV show appearance, perhaps indicating that he has already joined this year’s all-star jungle line-up.

Boxers have proven to be popular in the Australian outback, with Chris Eubank and David Haye – who finished third in the 2012 series – taking on the challenge in previous years.

As for the 2016 series, a host of other famous sporting faces have been rumoured, including Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, former footballer Robbie Savage and ex-England manager Sam Allardyce.

But will any of these sporting stars stand a chance of winning the ‘King of the Jungle’ title? Find out when I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV later this year.
