I'm A Celebrity 2023: Grace Dent's 'saddest' goodbye leaves campmates in tears

I'm A Celebrity's Grace Dent was the first out of the show and she left her campmates in tears with her goodbye saying: "Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life."

There were many signs that Dent was going to leave I'm A Celebrity before she made her dramatic exit.

Nick Pickard read out the heartfelt letter written by the food critic which left the campmates in tears.

From Dent, he read: "My dear campmates im so sorry to let you down. I've left the camp for medical reasons."

He added: "My heart is broken. You've held me up and it’s been a pleasure being your friend. Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life."

Harold broke down after her friend left camp for good. "Gutted," she said. "I'll miss her a lot. I never cry but I will cry for Grace. I miss her a lot already."

Fred Sirieix shared his feelings on Dent's parting word to camp, saying: "This is a nice letter."

"We love you Grace," the celebrities agreed.

Nella Rose took a moment to share some words on Dent while on her own. In a piece to camera, she said the food critic was her "pillar of strength" and her "fairygodmother".

"As long as she is ok, I'm happy," she said.

At the start of the episode, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly addressed Dent's exit after it was revealed earlier in the day that she had left the show early.

Giving an update on Dent's exit, McPartlin said: "On a day of big news. Sadly Grace has left the camp for medical reasons. She is fine."

ITV confirmed her exit in a statement: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."

Harold stepped up to replace the food critic in the Bushtucker trial Down The Tubes as she was the third most voted celebrity to take part. They won an impressive 10 stars.
