I'm A Celeb: Outraged Rylan Clark-Neal leaps to Iain Lee's defence as 'bullying' rumbles on
Rylan Clark-Neal is the latest person to share his outrage over the treatment of comic Iain Lee in this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, with the presenter and reality TV expert being left horrified by the other campmates’ behaviour.
In fact, Rylan even admitted that he wished that he was in the jungle so that he could stick up for his friend, who he worked with on Big Brother’s sister programme ‘Bit On The Psych’.
Taking to Twitter during last night’s episode, Rylan lashed out at the other contestants as he admitted that he trusted that ITV was giving a fair edit of what is going on in the camp.
The star tweeted: “Sorry, really don’t like how @iainlee is being spoken to. I work on these shows. Seems like this wouldn’t be said to any other campmate. Don’t like it #ImACeleb.
“Don’t get me wrong, 24hours in a day and we don’t see everything but if @iainlee was being a p***k or deserved to be belittled I trust the edit on #ImACeleb to show that. But he isn’t. He’s a good bloke is Iain.”
Later on, during a particularly nasty confrontation between Iain and Dennis Wise, Rylan wrote: “NEVER thought I’d say these words but…. I wish I was in the jungle for that…. would of had a right pipe up #ImACeleb [sic]”.
And Rylan isn’t alone in his feelings, with Iain Lee becoming one of last night’s top Twitter trends as other shocked viewers took to their social media page to share their view on what is going on – with many blasting ITV for not intervening:
Catching up on I’m a Celeb…. no Dennis your opinion is not an opinion, that was being blatantly rude and humiliating towards Iain. The guy is trying his best and telling someone who is clearly a bit out of place already they are good enough is just mean?? #imaceleb

so jack maynard got kicked off for something he said 5 years ago yet the discrimination we're seeing right now is not even being addressed? @imacelebrity @ITV #imaceleb

Catching up on last night's #ImACeleb @denniswise should be ashamed of himself for treating @iainlee like that! Jamie, Amir and Dennis are horrible, vile creatures! Iain for the win

ITV should be ashamed of themselves allowing Dennis & Amir to bully Iain as much as they do. Everyone of them went into that jungle not knowing their capabilities. We read every day about bullying yet ITV allow this at prime time tv with children watching.

This is not the first time that campmates have been accused of bullying the comic, with Iain seemingly being targeted as soon as he entered the jungle as a late competitor alongside Labour MSP Kezia Dugdale.
