'I'm A Celebrity' viewers creeped out by 'heavy breathing' during technical difficulties

Technical issues on live TV are par for the course. But ‘creepy’ heavy breathing? Less so.

Viewers of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here were treated to both last night, as Dec and Holly trotted off to announce who was the latest to be booted off the show.

But as their mics failed, all that could be heard was mildly sinister breathing.

Many viewers noted its ‘suspect’ quality.

Once the mics were hot again, the ‘scary heavy breathing’ faded away, and The Chase’s Anne Hegerty got her marching orders (but not before making Nick Knowles look a prize fool).

Anne admitted that she was very close to quitting the show in the very first hours of being in the jungle.

“I felt like we were walking in to hell and we got to Snake Rock and I couldn’t process it, the reality hit me and I was like ‘what have I done’,” she said during her exit interview.

“I went into the Bush Telegraph the next morning and said ‘I quit’ and they said ‘come back in a few hours’. I was a zombie in Snake Rock for the first 24 hours.”

Knowles is favourite to get the boot next, with football legend Harry Redknapp still odds on favourite to win.

The show continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
