Apple just dropped a huge news bomb, releasing not one, not two, but three massive new phones for you to sit and dream about owning.

A live announcement from the Steve Jobs Theater unveiled the spanking new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. A significant upgrade on the 2017 iPhone X, the three new phones are bigger, more colourful and jam-packed with new features that are right on the very edge of tech.

You still have to wait a few days to get the new handsets, even if you can afford them, so this is the perfect time to snag a bargain on previous models.

The iPhone X has most of the features that make the new iPhone models look so incredible. FaceID, Animojis, and a significantly more powerful processor chip are all crammed in the 2017 model, and prices have just dropped.

Best iPhone X contract deals

If you are looking to get your hands on a cheap iPhone X now that Apple has released three new models, the best option open to you is to get it on a contract with a mobile provider. The upfront cost is made more manageable over several months thanks to the contract, though this will ultimately mean you will pay a higher price for the total value of the phone.

Here are the current starting deals from the UK's major firms, but keep an eye out, as these will no doubt shift as people make a play for your business and availability is subject to change.

Virgin Mobile – Tariffs from £39 per month with no upfront fee (1GB of data)

Best iPhone X off-contract deals

For those who have a bit more cash just hanging around waiting to be spent, you can save yourself some money in the long run by buying the iPhone X outright. This brings all the cost of the phone into one lump sum to save you heaps of money on your monthly contract. You're not locked in to long contracts, you have your pick of the tariffs, and you can upgrade at any time – making a mint reselling your old phone whenever you like.

Amazon - from £832.25.

John Lewis – from £959.

Now that Apple is running out several new models at a higher price point, it is likely iPhone X prices will continue to drop, meaning you can snag yourself a bargain.
