A new Irish-themed tavern is to open in Nottingham. Katie O'Briens promises to bring "a taste of Ireland to your doorstep" with live music, sport and great craic.

The fast-growing chain also has bars in Leicester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Durham. The late-night bar aims to make you feel like you’re in the famous Temple Bar neighbourhood of Dublin, showcasing the best in live music from across the region, in traditional surroundings and serving authentic Irish drinks.

The bar's location hasn't been revealed. However, the likelihood is that it will be the former Olivia's Townhouse in Chapel Bar, which has been on the market since November 2022. Both brands are owned by the same company, The Innvest Group, and Leicester's Katie O'Briens opened within the old cocktail bar's property.

There the decor includes vintage metal signs advertising drinks such as Guinness and and Irish whiskey. Wooden barrels are used as tables and there are multiple screens showing live sport. Drinks available include Guinness, craft beers such as Brixton IPA and Beavertown Neck Oil, lagers including Moretti and Amstel, ciders and spirits, including Irish whiskies such as Jameson.

There's no launch date but the first 300 people to sign up at katieobriensirishtaverns.com/Nottingham will receive a free pint of Guinness when they open.
