ITV BGT winner George Sampson's life now - hair transplants, tattoos and girlfriend

ITV Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson, best known for his electrifying performances and winning the second season of BGT in 2008, has certainly had an interesting post-show journey.

Despite failing to reach the semi-finals in the first series, George returned a year later to captivate ITV viewers with his contemporary dance performance to Singin' in the Rain, winning the title of BGT champion.

Following his win, he appeared on various TV shows and inked promotional contracts, even venturing into music before amicably parting ways with Simon Cowell in 2009.

After a period away from the public eye, George re-emerged on our screens in 2016 with a role on Emmerdale and participated on Celebrity Coach Trip with Roxanne Pallett in 2019, reports the Mirror.

With BGT back on our screens, we take a look at George's life and achievements post-TV fame.

George regularly showcases his talents on theatre stages across the nation. Having just wrapped up playing the lead in a UK-touring Robin Hood pantomime, he was moved to take to Instagram: "This past month has been an absolute roller coaster!" he shared before the final show last week, reports the Daily Star.

A touching picture was shared by George, dressed in his Robin Hood outfit alongside his adorable canine companion.

Expressing his appreciation for the experience on a nationwide tour, he said: "Playing Robin Hood on a national tour has been an unreal experience, thanks to everyone that came to watch the show! Here's me and my mate Sully having a much-needed cuddle between scenes."

George's recent work also includes winning hearts as the Prince in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs in Weymouth, Dorset, furthering his panto career history. His acting portfolio spans other roles like Peter Pan and Cinderella as well.

An interesting tidbit from this lad's personal life is his apparent three-time hair transplant journey.

Reflecting on his receding hairline issue during a This Morning episode, George revealed he had spent a hefty £9,000 on initial two surgeries.

While having an open discussion with former hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, he expressed satisfaction with his third procedure: "I'm so happy. It's difficult. I still get hundreds of men messaging me about it.

"I felt like an old man with a babyface, I had to wake up and look in the mirror and think I hate my hairline."

He likened his bald patch to a "landing strip of bare skin", revealing that football icon Wayne Rooney served as an inspiration for him to undergo the hair transplant.

George has candidly discussed his battle with alopecia, citing stress, genetic factors, and the strain of performing head spins as contributing to his hair loss.

In a shift from his earlier clean-cut image, George has been showing off his tattoos, which have become a significant part of his edgier aesthetic.

Last year, he revealed his full tattoo sleeves, drawing attention and admiration from fans.

One follower expressed their enthusiasm on a video George shared of his inked arms, commenting: "Feckin awesome pal, love the logo on the cap."

The video also offered a peek at George's new tattoo, a sizeable self-portrait inspired by his performance in 'Singin' in the Rain', while his other arm features tributes to his acting career, including film reels and theatre masks.

George's love story with Kazmin Borrer started when they met during the show 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie'. They often post about their relationship on Instagram and recently marked their fourth anniversary.

Over the Christmas period, George shared a sweet video of him and Kazmin exchanging a festive kiss, reminiscent of a classic romantic movie scene. The couple shares a love for travel, evident from their numerous posts documenting their trips to cities like New York, Venice, and Los Angeles.
