Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli walked off from their judging desks on Britain's Got Talent during a 'disgusting' act on the opening show last night. The ITV talent show returned for its 17th series last night.

But one act completely divided the judges. Kimberly Winter, 34, explained she had flown all the way from the US to perform in front of the judges.

As the ABBA track The Winner Takes It All started playing in the background, everyone was expecting her to start singing. But as she leaned forward to the mic, she let out a huge burp.

Alesha and Bruno were so offended they walked off from their chairs. But Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden appeared to find Kimberly hilarious as did the crowd.

Following her act, Simon noted: "It was so stupid, it was brilliant." When she burped in response, Bruno told Simon "she can't go any further" as he begged him not to put her through. Amanda then also burped down the mic in support and continued to belch as Bruno replied: "I am bitterly disappointed."

Kimberley made it through to the next round - much to the dismay of some viewers. "That was actually insulting. It was embarrassing that she went through on this talent show," one wrote in a comment on the official Britain's Got Talent Instagram.

"Nothing was entertaining about that…," another added. "How ridiculous that they voted her through. It was disgusting and certainly not talent," a third commented.

"Literally made me feel sick! My 10 year old however was in hysterics!" another added. While someone who was actually in the audience for the audtion commented: "I was in the audience it was disgusting! Not many of us liked it!"

"Worse thing about BGT tonight," another fan added.
