ITV' Coronation Street may have inadvertently hinted at how the real killer of Lauren Bolton will be unmasked.

The latest episode saw Dee-Dee Bailey on a mission to free Roy Cropper from prison, who has been wrongly accused of murdering the missing Lauren. Dee-Dee informed Roy's family and friends that she had discovered some messages from Lauren's O-Vidz account, which showed communication between her and her subscribers.

She suggested that the person who might have kidnapped or murdered Lauren could have been one of those messaging her. Fans are still in the dark about the identity of the ex who was tormenting the teenager.

Regardless, Dee-Dee was confident that these messages would prove Roy's innocence, especially given the nature of the messages Lauren was receiving, some of which contained spelling mistakes. These errors could potentially reveal the true identity of the killer, reports the Mirror.

When Dee-Dee presented the messages to DS Swain, she implored her to consider them as evidence. However, Swain argued that there wasn't enough solid proof to release Roy, and the messages didn't conclusively point to a killer.

Undeterred, Dee-Dee vowed to get the messages analysed by an expert. She mentioned that she knew someone in London who worked with The Met and had experience in this area.

As she gears up to have the messages scrutinised and decoded, the scenes may have hinted at how the real perpetrator will be unmasked. There were several mentions of certain words being misspelled in the messages.

So, all it might take is for someone, a suspect, to misspell those same words in the same way they are written in the messages, and we might have our killer. So, can we anticipate an upcoming scene where one character jots something down and inadvertently reveals they are behind the messages, and could therefore be the man the police are hunting for?
