Coronation Street spoilers have revealed new twists and developments in the battle to prove Roy Cropper is innocent.

Roy is pushed to his limits as he relives the moments before Lauren Bolton's disappearance. In his prison cell, Roy has another flashback of Lauren approaching the café counter with Max Turner, but can’t work out what’s significant about their conversation.

The café owner is found collapsed on the floor of his cell and rushed to hospital. Mary Taylor urges Roy, who ends up in hospital, not to give up as he keeps trying to jog his memory, certain the conversation he overheard between Max and Lauren is of significance.

There is a sudden breakthrough on Friday when Roy calls Dee-Dee Bailey from prison and tells her about Lauren’s necklace. He believes that, if they can trace where it’s from, they might be able to trace her mystery boyfriend.

Also, Paul Foreman, Billy Mayhew and Gemma Winter are blown away by the motor neurone disease (MND) crowdfunder, sure it will make the council sit up and take notice about the possible centre closure. Meanwhile a man approaches Bernie Winter outside the café, telling her he heard Paul on the radio and didn’t realise his son was dying.

Bernie covers her shock and makes out Paul’s already dead and the interview was a recording. But, a disbelieving Denny follows her up to the flat where Gemma and Paul are shocked to see their dad.

When Denny remarks Paul looks great for someone who is supposedly dead, Bernie freezes in horror. Elsewhere, an upbeat Steve McDonald tells Tim Metcalfe he's been getting lucky in love since he joined an new dating site.

Elsewhere this week, Gary Windass and Maria Connor discuss private therapy for Liam to deal with the lasting impacts of bullying, with Gary suggesting they sell the factory to fund it. Liam overhears this and looks up ways to deal with anxiety online.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
