As Coronation Street's Roy Cropper, portrayed by Leicestershire's David Neilson, awaits his trial for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in custody, the pressure is mounting for him and those fighting to prove his innocence. While his friends and family are convinced of Roy's innocence, others harbour doubts.

When far-right activist Griff Reynolds, played by Michael Condron, returns to Weatherfield Prison, he takes it upon himself to extract a confession from Roy. Griff is on a quest for revenge, and it quickly becomes clear that Roy is in grave danger.

Meanwhile, Bethany Platt, played by Mia Cookson, is certain that Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) is behind Lauren's murder, reports the Express. In a bid to permanently rid Bethany of her sex offender ex, Sarah Platt, portrayed by Tina O'Brien, takes a bold step.

But when she's caught red-handed, will Sarah face the consequences? Or will the police discover their own evidence pointing towards Nathan?

In a week of dramatic episodes, broadcast over five nights, viewers will see Carla Connor (Alison King) and Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) fall foul of the law, accused of perverting the course of justice.

Just as DI Swain and Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, seem on the verge of cracking the case, viewers will be stunned by a sudden revelation - a new piece of evidence that reveals the true identity of Lauren's killer. Have the police nabbed their man in Nathan or is a predator still at large?

ITV soap spoilers have revealed that Roy finds himself in a perilous situation when Griff confronts him, demanding a confession for Lauren's murder. Despite Griff's threats with an improvised knife and his demand for Roy to utter his final words, Roy remains steadfast in his refusal to admit to killing Lauren.

The identity of Lauren's killer is then unveiled - does this suggest that Roy has been aware of the murderer's identity from the start? Is Roy going to confess to her murder, or has he been shielding someone else all this time?
