ITV's Julia Bradbury shares 'beautiful' walking trail just 40 minutes from Liverpool that's a 'secluded part of the world'

Julia Bradbury has recommended a "beautiful" walking trail that is a 40-minute drive away from Liverpool.

Julia, who regularly appears on ITV's This Morning, as well as having her own walking programmes, is heading to Frodsham this weekend for the town's 20th Festival of Walks. Those who attend the festival on Sunday, May 5, will be able to meet Julia and take a walk with her through the former golf course, which has now been "rewilded" by the Woodland Trust.

It is now home to badgers, foxes and other wildlife and Julia said it is a "really special place". Julia said there'll be "plenty of tree-hugging" and she will also plant a tree, to mark the festival's anniversary.

There will also be a Q&A with Julia and she will discuss her best-selling book, Walk Yourself Happy. Speaking to the ECHO earlier this week, Julia shared a nearby trail that she loves.

She said: "I'm very lucky, privileged, to have been introduced to walking in nature from a young age.

"And to be able to do what I do. It can sometimes all blend into one big walk, but I do love the Sandstone trail. It is a beautiful and secluded part of the world."

The Sandstone trail stretches for 34 miles along Cheshire’s Sandstone Ridge and offers "superb, unbroken, and often elevated walking across the still largely green and pleasant English county of Cheshire", according to its website. It begins in Frodsham on the broad Mersey estuary, and a popular trail goes from Frodsham to Manley, taking around two to three hours with a 5.5 miles distance.

The Frodsham Festival of Walks runs until Sunday (May 5) and tickets for An Afternoon With Julia can be purchased here for £15 each.
