Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has hit out at the BBC over a "lie" about Jeremy Corbyn's Glastonbury speech.

The Labour leader appeared at Glastonbury on Saturday to give a rousing speech to a huge crowd about topics including the recent general election, the Grenfell Tower tragedy and Donald Trump.

One thing he didn't mention was nuclear weapons, although a report from a local paper said that Corbyn had a conversation with Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis about scrapping Trident, Britain's nuclear deterrent.

Labour has said that Eavis was paraphrasing a conversation he had with Corbyn and it didn't fully reflect his position on Trident, but that didn't stop Boris Johnson bringing it up in Parliament this week.

The BBC then covered Boris's comments in a video on Twitter, leaving the extra information about Labour's response to the quotes to the very end of the piece, and Carragher was not impressed.

"And it's a lie, so put that in the tweet instead of the end of the video," he commented on a tweet of the clip.

Corbyn hasn't directly responded to the reports on Twitter, instead choosing to share a video of his speech, stating that more than four million have watched it online since the weekend.

His appearance at Glastonbury also saw the Labour leader take a dig at Theresa May's confession that running through wheat fields was the naughtiest thing she's done.
