Jason Momoa leaves fans ‘heartbroken’ after he shaves his beard off for the first time in seven years

Jason Momoa sent fans into a frenzy after he shaved off his signature beard.

The Aquaman star, who has become known for his rough-cut looks and flowing facial hair, took the plunge after seven years of not touching his face with a razor.

Momoa shared a Youtube video of himself as he ceremoniously pulled out a trimmer in the middle of a plastic-ridden dessert.

As he started shaving he said to a friend: “The last time I shaved was in 2012.”

He then proceeded to take the plunge, shouting out goodbyes to each of the acting roles which featured the look, including his Game of Thrones character Khal Drogo.

The bold new look left fans feeling emotional over the dramatic change.

One user wrote: “Jason Momoa shaved his beard and that broke my heart.”

Another added: “Jason Momoa shaved his beard off and I don’t know what to do with myself.”

“Jason Momoa shaving off his beard is the biggest disappointment in my life to ever happen,” posted a third.

As part of the video, Mamoa told how he was hopeful he could raise awareness of the state of the planet through the dramatic change.

He told viewers: “Most importantly, I just wanna do this to bring awareness. Plastics are killing our planet.

“I think we have a solution, I don’t want to b**** about it there is only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet, as long as we recycle, that’s aluminium.”

The Hollywood actor concluded the video with a reel of facts as he encouraged fans to make a difference for “my kids, your kids for the world”.
