Jay Blades' estranged wife Lisa Marie Zbozen has opened up about their shock split, revealing that she simply "grabbed my things and left" one day. The breakdown of Jay's marriage to Lisa comes just days after The Repair Shop star announced a social media break following the death of his beloved uncle.

Lisa and Jay tied the knot in Barbados in November 2022. Announcing their split, Lisa said she was "trying to figure out my life".

In a subsequent post, Lisa shared more details about the collapse of her marriage to the BBC star. "I don't know how to say this because it's still really raw," she wrote on Instagram.

"I probably should be really angry but I'm just incredibly sad about the whole thing right now. I don't think I've ever cried so much.

"I wanted my husband to love me and keep me safe, and I would love him right back, but it just got worse and worse, until I grabbed a bag of a few things and I just left."

She added: "I will admit I'm crying as I type this as I can't believe this is even real. I hope you don't mind if I just have a few days trying to figure out my life as I'm currently in a spare room with a few essentials."

She signed off with a poignant message: "I don't know what else to say. All my love, A very broken Lisa-Marie x."

Reports indicate that Jay's uncle was fatally stabbed by a neighbour in March, following a protracted dispute over a communal alleyway on a peaceful residential street. Jay, father to a 15 year old daughter with his former partner Jade, took to Instagram on Monday to inform his followers of the tragic incident, revealing that his uncle had been "murdered a few weeks ago".

Subsequent reports identified the victim as Richard Brathwaite, aged 72, who was found deceased at Cromwell Road in Wembley on 21st March. It is alleged that he was stabbed by a neighbour after a series of altercations concerning the alleyway they shared, as per various accounts.

"Hope you're all well. This is kind of like a public service announcement", began Jay while speaking to his social media followers on Monday. Revealing his personal tragedy, he shared, "I've just been to my uncle's funeral, he was murdered a few weeks ago. Really, super nice guy, shouldn't have happened to him, but it really affected me."

Jay admitted feeling "a little bit messed up" about the traumatic incident. He unveiled plans to step back from online platforms for some much-needed mental rest, assuring fans it would be temporary.

"So what I'm intending on doing is this... I'm coming off social media for a bit, and I'll be back in a bit. Going to go and get some therapy and just chill out", he confirmed, placing emphasis on the need for "taking stock" after recent upheavals. Lastly, Jay encouraged: "Please, take care of each other, take care of yourself, and I'll see you guys soon."
